ROYAL KINGINTERNATIONAL SUITS

Our craftsmanship

A tailored garment is a series of careful decisions: how it should fit, what it should be made from and how each detail is finished. This is how we make them.

From consultation to fitting

  1. Tailor presenting fabric books to a customer across a desk

    01

    Consultation

We talk through the occasion, the climate you will wear it in and the style you like.

  2. Tailor measuring a customer's back with a tape measure

    02

    Measurements

Our tailor takes your measurements in person and records them on your order sheet.

  3. Hand turning through navy and grey suiting swatches

    03

    Fabric selection

Compare cloths by weight, weave and colour, with advice on what will wear well.

  4. Tailor cutting chalk-marked navy cloth with shears

    04

    Cutting

Your pattern is marked out and the cloth is cut for your garment.

  5. Navy pinstripe cloth being sewn on a machine

    05

    Construction

The garment is assembled, with the seams and structure it needs to hold its shape.

  6. Hands stitching the canvas inside a jacket lapel

    06

    Details

Collar, lapels, buttonholes and lining are finished with care.

  7. Steam iron pressing a navy garment

    07

    Pressing

Each stage is pressed so the garment takes its final shape.

  8. Finished navy suit and waistcoat on a mannequin

    08

    Fitting

You try the garment on, we check the fit and make adjustments before you collect.

The details you choose

  • Peak lapel with pocket square

    Lapels

Notch, peak or shawl, cut in proportion to your shoulders and the jacket's length.

  • Four buttons on a jacket cuff

    Cuffs

Sleeve length and button spacing are set to your arm, so the shirt cuff shows as it should.

  • Jacket lining with inside pocket

    Lining

Full, half or unlined, in a colour you choose, with inside pockets placed where you want them.

  • Jacket front button

    Buttons

The button stance sets the line of the jacket. It is chosen with you at the fitting.
